In fact, we have decided to set off on Sat after the sch but heard tt Jun qin n Alvin is gng straight after sch , so we joined in the grp. But as we have not packed yet , immed during the Han yu break , we set off straight home to pack up. Met the grp at HUANG PI NAN stat and walked to the bus stop.
This travelling grp included : Jun Qin , Alvin , MAthew , me , mel , Shuying & Huiying .
The bus - 沪朱线 , 9rmb fare fee , that we took at Yan An Xi road took us almost 2 hrs to reach our destination. We reached at ard 8pm , walked ard in search of a motel . Along the way , also took glance at some local snacks and shops...Heard from the previous batch of PPL who came here praised abt the Pig's trotter and the meat dumplings here , so i also could not take my eyes away from the array of food in stores ... when we walked to the motel.
(***Pic showing Pig' trotter , dumpling ... )A nice lady in a restaurant led us to this motel which the charges could be bargained. We settled for 2 rooms at the rate of 90 rmb per room. the girls one room and the guys one room . Two girls to a bed. The motel looked deserted but at least the gd thing was that the motel is situated in the old town, so we alrdy saved on the entrance fee into the town. The regulations is that after 8pm, no entrance fee is needed to enter the old town.
After putting our backpacks in the motel , we set off to take a tour ard the town. Felt that in the night where not much tourists ard , we could have a better view of the town n also can enjoyed the serenity of the night ~~~ though most attractions we could not enter and some alleys were not lit. Toook a few pics and of course ... bought some food along the way ... mainly dumplings n pig's trotter. The food we shared among ourselves ... *** enjoyed feeding each other like pigs ! lol ... went back to motel to rest and bathe.
Next mrng , woke up ard 5am , hopin to catch the sunrise . BUt disappointing enuff, when i woke up, the sun was alrdy up in the sky halfway .. sad !!! luckily Mel managed to take some pics as she woke up earlier ...
Though no sunrise to see , we walked thru the town ... as there wasn't much crowd in the mrng , we took the chance to take as mani pics as possible.
(***Me on 放生桥 ...)With breakfast - dumplings & Jian Bao , we encountered this boat man who psychoed us to take his boat ard the town. Since we alrdy planned this boat ride ,we went ahead with it ~ of course was after barginning . 90rmb for 7 ppl for an hr tour.
(***Me sitting at the front of the boat ... touring round the watertown)Ard 8.30am , Tourists kept coming in ... Nevertheless, we went shopping ard for local snacks and buying some souvenirs . Bought some local snacks and bought some dumplings back for hsemates to savour. The dumpling costs 2rmb each and the pig's trotter is sold by weight like 5 rmb/jin. After a hearty shopping trip , me , jun qin and mel had this craving for mrng coffee so we went to ILLY - a coffee cafe to have some nice , fragrance coffee . Slacked at the cafe for some time , had small chats, got to know abt each other.
By 12 noon , we checked out the motel and went out of the old town. As our stomaches were full of dumplings and snacks , we skipped proper meals. With a suggestion to go to OUTLETs , we set off immed. It's 30 mins ride .
Outlet is a big big plaza which branded fashions are sold at prices lower than market price , it's like a wholesale market. we spilted off to shop . After some time , as roomie n i were rather tired , we set off for home first . Took a bus and reached home safely.
